Some highlights from the Little League Rule book:

• Pitching distance 40 feet.
• Runner leaves on the pitcher’s release.
• 12” inch softballs are used.
• Batters can advance to first on dropped third strike with first unoccupied or two (2) outs.
• Maximum innings pitched per week for all Little League games is 12.
• Unlimited steals.
• Must slide or avoid at play at home.
• Mercy rule must be enforced. 15 runs after 3 innings or 10 after 4 innings
• Three (3) coaches in dugout.


Special MLL Rules:

• Continuous batting order.
• First base player, third base player, and the pitcher must wear face masks.
• All players must wear heart guard.
• Nine (9) defensive players.
• Every player plays a minimum of two (2) innings on defense.
• Five (5) run maximum per inning.
• Two (2) hour time limit for ALL games – don’t start an inning after 1:45.
• Free substitution (including pitchers may return even if leave the game).
• Catcher can have courtesy runner if two (2) outs to speed up the game.
